MOGILEV, 12 May (BelTA) – The members of the Belarus-Russia Union State government need to be above the interests of certain manufacturers and lobbyists for individual departments, Belarus Prime Minister Andrei Kobyakov said at a meeting of the Belarus-Russia Union State Council of Ministers in Mogilev, BelTA has learned.
“In the face of shrinking demand and declining investments, there is a great desire to broaden support for own manufacturers through state subsidies, ‘close’ the market by bureaucratic restrictions and informal barriers, inflate the national programs of import substitution, subsidizing and lending, close access to public procurement procedures for partners,” he said.
However, according to him, “the members of the Union State government need to be above the interests of certain manufacturers and lobbyists for individual departments”.
