Savinykh to lead Union State PA delegation at PABSEC General Assembly in Turkiye

MOSCOW, 28 April (BelTA) – Vice Speaker of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union State of Belarus and Russia, Chairman of the Standing Commission on International Affairs of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus Andrei Savinykh is set to lead the delegation of the Parliamentary Assembly at the 61st General Assembly of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (PABSEC). The event is due to take place in Ankara, Turkiye on 4-5 May, BelTA learned from the press service of the Parliamentary Assembly.

“The main topics included in the draft agenda of the General Assembly are the following: “The role of parliamentary diplomacy amid global change: development, peace, stability”, “The role of parliaments in strengthening energy security in the BSEC member states”, “The role of parliaments in strengthening economic security in the BSEC member states,” the press service said.

The Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation was formed in 1993. Today it includes representatives of the parliaments of Azerbaijan, Albania, Armenia, Bulgaria, Greece, Georgia, Moldova, Russia, Romania, North Macedonia, Serbia, Turkiye and Ukraine. The Parliamentary Assembly of the Union State of Belarus and Russia has had a permanent observer status in the PABSEC since 2003.
