Russia approves establishment of Belarus’ consulate general in Yekaterinburg

MOSCOW, 2 October (BelTA) – The Russian government has approved the establishment of a consulate general of Belarus in Yekaterinburg. The corresponding document was published on the Russian official internet portal of legal information, BelTA reports.

According to the document, the consular district of the Belarusian diplomatic mission will cover Perm Territory, Kurgan Oblast, Sverdlovsk Oblast, Tyumen Oblast, Chelyabinsk Oblast, the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area - Yugra and the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Area.

The Russian government recommended that Sverdlovsk Oblast authorities find and lease out or sell office and residential premises in Yekaterinburg to Belarus, as well as resolve other organizational issues.

In addition to the embassy in Moscow, Belarus also runs a consulate general in St. Petersburg and embassy branches in Kaliningrad, Smolensk, Kazan, Ufa, Nizhny Novgorod, Rostov-on-Don, Krasnoyarsk, Novosibirsk, Yekaterinburg and Vladivostok.
