MINSK, 24 January (BelTA) – Romania supports the EU’s intention to sign the partnership priorities with Belarus, Romanian Ambassador to Belarus Viorel Mosanu said at the event dedicated to the official launch of the EU Romanian Presidency, BelTA has learned.
“Romania continues to support the intention of the European Union to sign the partnership priorities in order to improve our bilateral cooperation. This document is in sync with the principle of the European neighborhood policy to have an individual approach to cooperation with every neighbor,” the ambassador said.
He also noted that the partnership priorities are of great political value. They are important for the further development of contacts post 2020 as they presuppose a more substantial financial support of the cooperation policy on the part of the EU.
“The Romanian Presidency also seeks to contribute to the early conclusion of the visa facilitation and readmission agreements between the EU and Belarus,” Viorel Mosanu added.
