CAIRO, 16 January (BelTA) – The roadmap to develop Belarus-Egypt cooperation will be prepared in Q1 2017, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko said at the opening of the Belarusian-Egyptian business forum on 16 January, BelTA has learned.
“The roadmap of our cooperation should be prepared in Q1 2017. This action plan should be prepared and filled with concrete meaning within three months. We should specify what production facilities and joint ventures to establish on the territory of Egypt,” Alexander Lukashenko said.
The President remarked that this proposal was put forward by the Egyptian side, and Belarus supported it. “The progress in this field will not depend on us. We will move as fast as Egypt wants,” the head of the state said. “I would like the members of the government and directors of the biggest Belarusian enterprises to remember about it. We have always been responsible people, and have always been appreciated for it in the world.”
Alexander Lukashenko pointed out the special importance of this business forum. “Businessmen should meet regularly, politicians should create favorable conditions for it. We will support you. It is especially important when it pertains to such complementary countries as Belarus and Egypt. We are not rivals in the economy, politics, and defense industries. Belarus and Egypt are complementary countries, and this a crucial element in the economy.”
