MINSK, 31 March (BelTA) – Belarus has received no information from the Moroccan side about any changes in the visa regime for Belarusian citizens, spokesman for the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dmitry Mironchik told BelTA commenting on the information posted on the Internet about abolition of visas for Belarusian citizens who buy air tickets to Morocco.
“The Belarusian side has received no information from Morocco about any changes in the visa regime for Belarusian citizens,” Dmitry Mironchik emphasized.
Some websites, with reference to a representative of a Belarusian travel agency, posted the informed that Morocco decided to abolish visa requirements for tourists with Belarusian passports travelling by direct charter flights from Minsk. According to some other websites, the visa regime had been simplified. A travel agency informed its clients that passengers flying directly to Morocco can get visas in the Moroccan airport for $60. A representative of the agency said that a relevant verbal agreement had been reached.
The Belarusian air carrier Belavia earlier informed that this year Belarusian tourists will be able to fly directly from Minsk to Morocco. The new Boeing 737-800 aircraft purchased on a leasing terms in 2015 will allow the company to operate direct flights to Agadir.
