MINSK, 2 April (BelTA) – Belarus hopes for the development of recommendations to deepen the Union State integration, Chairman of the Council of the Republic Mikhail Myasnikovich said at the opening of the spring session on 2 April, BelTA has learned.
According to Mikhail Myasnikovich, the Council of the Republic convinced its counterparts from Russia and the Union State Standing Committee in the need of a serious monitoring over the Union State relations between Belarus and Russia and their compliance with the Treaty of 8 December 1999.
“The objective analysis will be held at the 5th Forum of Regions in autumn. We hope that recommendations to deepen the Union State integration on mutually beneficial terms will be developed at the forum, and at its preparatory stage,” the head of the upper house of the Belarusian parliament said.
"It is not for the treaty to be changed or the goals to be revised, as some skeptics of the Union State relations say. It is necessary to achieve the unconditional implementation of the tasks that were set up almost 20 years ago. They remain relevant today. This is a common market without exceptions and restrictions. These are equal rights of citizens,” Mikhail Myasnikovich stressed.
