MOSCOW, 28 September (BelTA) – Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin met with Prime Minister of Belarus Andrei Kobyakov on 28 September. The Moscow Mayor thanked the Belarusian side for shipments of food and machines and assistance with the construction of the Moscow metro system, BelTA has learned.
Sergei Sobyanin said: “Moscow and Minsk are connected by a long history of mutual relations and by the mutual penetration of the economies. Belarus is one of the key partners for Moscow.”
Sergei Sobyanin said that Moscow had started buying a lot of Belarusian municipal vehicles, buses, and trolleybuses. He thanked Belarus for food shipments after Russia’s embargo on Western food. “Belarusian food boasts a large product range and large volumes,” said the Moscow Mayor. “I hope this cooperation will continue in the future. I see no reasons why it won’t.”
Sergei Sobyanin noted that Belarusian construction workers had secured the construction of quite a large part of the Moscow metro system. “The Belarusian metro construction workers did a great job. I hope this avenue of cooperation will continue, too,” he said.
