MINSK, 12 May (BelTA) - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Arab Emirates to Belarus Ibrahim Salim Mohamed Almusharrekh has visited the Belarusian Internal Affairs Ministry. The ambassador met with Interior Minister Ivan Kubrakov to discuss the signing of bilateral documents and issues of cooperation between law enforcement agencies, BelTA learned from the Internal Affairs Ministry.

Ivan Kubrakov praised the established relations with the UAE. “Our countries have an inexhaustible potential for the development of cooperation in all relevant areas, including in the maintenance of security and law and order in our countries. Two international agreements have already been prepared for signing,” the minister said.

Ivan Kubrakov added that one more bilateral document was at the stage of agreement.

Ibrahim Salim Mohamed Almusharrekh thanked for a warm welcome and noted that over the year he spent in the country as ambassador, he made sure of the safety and openness of the country. “For my part, I will make every effort to sign the elaborated documents as soon as possible. I also applied to the ministries of foreign affairs of the two countries with a proposal to sign a memorandum on strategic cooperation between our countries. It will let us develop cooperation in many areas,” the diplomat stressed.

The parties agreed to exchange opinions on the issues of interest both in-person, thorugh visits of delegations, and via video conferences. The ambassador is convinced that the video bridge would help get a wide range of UAE officials familiar with the activities of the Internal Affairs Ministry and Belarus in general. This will also help show that the discrediting information broadcast by some media outlets has nothing to do with reality.
