MINSK, 20 December (BelTA) – Belarus’ Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei has met with his Georgian counterpart Mikheil Janelidze. The two Foreign Ministers told about the results of the talks on a joint press conference, BelTA has learned.
Vladimir Makei is on a working visit to Georgia on 20 December. The program of the visit also envisages meetings with Georgian President Giorgi Margvelashvili, Chairman of the Parliament Irakli Kobakhidze, and Catholicos-Patriarch Ilia II of Georgia.
The parties are set to discuss the whole range of the Belarusian-Georgian relations, including the issues of political, trade and economic cooperation, the Belarusian exports, interaction in international organizations, and cooperation in the humanitarian sector.
A ceremony to open the Belarusian embassy in Georgia will make part of the program. Attending the event will be representatives of the President’s Administration, the government and Parliament of Georgia, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Tbilisi City Hall and also the diplomatic service.
