MINSK, 27 August (BelTA) – Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko has congratulated the people of the Republic of Moldova on their national holiday - Independence Day,  BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

“Our country has utmost respect and warm regards for hardworking Moldovan people. Belarus and Moldova are both hospitable and friendly nations that share cultural and family values,” the head of state noted. “In the course of three decades common historical legacy has helped Minsk and Chisinau build successful cooperation based on good neighborliness and trust. Unfortunately, today’s extremely tense international situation has a negative impact on personal and business contacts between citizens of the two countries,” the Belarusian president noted.
