MINSK, 30 March (BelTA) – Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko has sent greetings to the participants of the 9th meeting of Belarusian and Russian twin towns, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.
“I am very happy to welcome you in Belarus. It is symbolic that the meeting is held in the run-up to the Day of Unity of Peoples of Belarus and Russia as the twin towns play a significant role in the development of partnership between our countries,” the message of greetings reads.
“Today we are doing our best for the vigorous development of the trade, economic, and humanitarian cooperation, for the improvement of the living standards of people. That is why creative initiatives aimed at the promotion of the principles of mutual understanding and good neighborliness in the society are so important,” the head of state remarked.
Alexander Lukashenko expressed confidence that the event will inspire its participants to implement projects which will help twin town residents learn more about each other, establish cultural and social ties.
