MINSK, 27 February (BelTA) – Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko talked to Ukraine President Petro Poroshenko over the phone, the press service of the Belarusian leader told BelTA.
The heads of state discussed the advancement of trade and economic relations, noting they are now more vibrant. Positive dynamics in 2017 was noted. The heads of state expressed their determination to further expand economic cooperation.
Alexander Lukashenko and Petro Poroshenko spoke at length about progress in preparations for the first Belarusian-Ukrainian forum. The forum is supposed to take place in Gomel in October 2018. An agreement on the form of the forum has already been reached.
The advancement of cooperation in cultural affairs was also mentioned during the conversation. In particular, the organization of Ukrainian Culture Days was mentioned as well as the overall participation of Ukrainian artists in a number of popular Belarusian festivals such as Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk and Alexandria Gathers Friends.
