NEW YORK, 27 September (BelTA) – Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko met with President of the Council of State and the Council of Ministers of Cuba Raul Castro on the sidelines of the UN assembly in New York on 27 September, BelTA informs.
The leaders of the two countries talked over the state and prospects of the Belarusian-Cuban relations, placing an emphasis of the trade and economic sector. The parties took note of the existing potential for further strengthening the bilateral comprehensive cooperation.
Alexander Lukashenko and Raul Castro shared opinions on the most important issues of the current international agenda and confirmed the course on mutual support on the international arena.
Cuba is Belarus’ important trading partner in Latin America. Belarus’ main exports include industrial products. Cuba buys Belarusian automotive engineering goods, eternal-combustion engines, spare parts, machine-tool equipment and mineral fertilizers.
