NUR-SULTAN, 25 October (BelTA) – Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko has invited Kazakhstan President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to visit Belarus on an official visit in 2020, BelTA has learned.
Aleksandr Lukashenko noted that this will give an opportunity to monitor the implementation of today's arrangements and the agreements signed in Nur-Sultan. "Kazakhstan is an important, time-tested friend with whom Belarus has been building strategic, allied and fraternal relations," the president said.
On 25 October, the heads of state held official talks in Nur-Sultan. According to Aleksandr Lukashenko, the parties discussed, in an open and trusting atmosphere, a wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation, set priorities for the near future and coordinated the positions on key areas of cooperation in the integration and international organizations, including on transnational and regional security issues.
“The history has granted the three republics [Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan] the right and the possibility to spearhead the integration. The peoples of the former Soviet Union expect a lot from us, and we cannot deceive their hopes," the Belarusian leader stressed.
