BEIJING, 15 May (BelTA) – Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko held talks with top officials of a number of countries of Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America on the sidelines of the Belt and Road forum which took place in Beijing on 14-15 May, Belarus’ Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei told reporters on 15 May, BelTA has learned.
“There were very substantial exchanges of opinions and negotiations with the prime minister of Pakistan and the president of Turkey. Besides, there were conversations with a number of heads of state from Asia, Africa, and Latin America on the sidelines of the forum,” Vladimir Makei said. “The president also talked to the representatives of a number of European countries. There were good conversations with top officials of Kenya, Cambodia, Ethiopia, and Vietnam.”
According to the minister, such events as the Belt and Road forum are a good opportunity to meet with other leaders and discuss the current state of affairs and prospects of bilateral relations. “There were very substantial and extensive contacts,” he stressed.
