MINSK, 20 December (BelTA) – Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko has expressed condolences to the family and friends of Russian Ambassador Andrei Karlov who was killed in Turkey, expressed support to Russia President Vladimir Putin and the people of Russia, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.
The head of state remarked that it is with deep pain and sorrow that Belarus has learned the news about a cynical terrorist attack which took the life of the Russian diplomat.
“We resolutely condemn any forms and manifestations of terrorism, and provide overall assistance to the efforts to counteract terrorist threats from any sources,” the message of condolences reads.
It was reported earlier that the Ambassador of Russia to Turkey Andrei Karlov was killed at the opening of the photo exhibition in Ankara on 19 December. The killer was named as Mevlut Mert Altintas. He was shot dead by police.
