MINSK, 16 November (BelTA) – Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko has sent greetings to workers of the Belarusian agricultural and processing industries as they celebrate their professional holiday, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.
The president stressed that soil and people are the major wealth of Belarus, and the Belarusian agricultural industry is a core branch in the economy of our independent state.
“The coronavirus pandemic and other shocks have affected the operation of many industries. However, wise agrarians produced bumper harvest in these complicated conditions: they gathered almost 10.5 million tonnes grain and rape, They found reserves for increasing the production of milk, meat, vegetables and fruit,” the message of greetings reads.
According to the head of state, Belarus has fully satisfied the domestic demand for local foodstuffs. And the export of food to over 100 countries will bring billions of U.S. dollars to the budget.
“I am sincerely grateful to you for the preservation of the best traditions, professional excellence, for being proactive and mastering new technologies. I am convinced that the Belarusian agribusiness will accomplish all ambitious goals,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said.
The president wished all agrarians strong health, every success, good weather and support of families and friends.
