Lukashenko: Belarus and Philippines will continue strengthening cooperation

MINSK, 12 June (BelTA) – Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko sent greetings to President of the Philippines Ferdinand Marcos Jr. as the country celebrates the 125th anniversary of the proclamation of independence, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

"Since gaining sovereignty, the Philippines has made significant strides in social and economic development and has become an active participant in ASEAN," the message of greetings reads.

Since the establishment of diplomatic relations, the dialogue between Minsk and Manila has been based on friendship, mutual respect and trust, the head of state noted.

"I am confident that we will continue to build on the positive trends in bilateral ties, including in  industrial cooperation, mechanical engineering, electric transport, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, science and education and enhancing business partnership," the president stressed.

Aleksandr Lukashenko wished Ferdinand Marcos Jr. good health and successes in his responsible political post, and the people of the Philippines - happiness and prosperity.
