BISHKEK, 12 April (BelTA-Kabar) – Kyrgyzstan is interested in cooperation with Belarus in neurosurgery and other areas of healthcare. Kyrgyz Healthcare Minister Talantbek Batyraliyev made the statement as he met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Kyrgyzstan Andrei Strachko and specialists of the Applied Research Center for Neurology and Neurosurgery of the Belarusian Healthcare Ministry during a healthcare expo in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, BelTA has learned.
The official said: “I’ve been to Belarus many times, back in the USSR time. Your universities were and are some of the best ones in the post-Soviet space. Belarus offers accessible healthcare to the population. The level of development of medical science, particularly in transplantology, is rather high. We are ready for cooperation for the sake of improving the state of neurosurgery in Kyrgyzstan and for developing other healthcare areas.”
In turn, Andrei Strachko noted the Belarusian side was ready for cooperation and eager to provide all kinds of assistance to Kyrgyz colleagues with developing healthcare tourism and training the personnel.
As a result of the meeting it was decided that the possibility of the Belarusian Healthcare Minister’s visit to Kyrgyzstan in order to step up the bilateral relations in healthcare would be considered.
