Krutoi: Belarus-Russia relations have proved the status of strategic partnership

MOSCOW, 22 December (BelTA) –Belarus-Russia relations have been time-tested and have proved to have a nature of strategic partnership, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Russia (vested with the deputy prime minister’s authorities) Dmitry Krutoi said at a meeting of the High-Level Group of the Union State Council of Ministers in Moscow on 22 December, BelTA has learned.

“In general, this year Belarus-Russia relations have successfully weathered all kinds of tests, including sanctions and other challenges and have once again proved the status of a strategic partnership,” said Dmitry Krutoi.

He recalled that participants of the recent meeting of the Union State Council of Ministers hailed progress to implement 28 Union State programs: 95% of the planned activities were completed. “A new program document was adopted at the level of the heads of government: the main provisions to implement the Union State Treaty for 2024-2026. I hope that the leaders of our countries will support the efforts of the governments and uphold this document at the upcoming meeting of the Supreme State Council,” the ambassador noted.

According to the diplomat, thanks to regular meetings at the High-Level Group, the parties found mutually acceptable solutions on a number of difficult issues, including interaction in industry: access to public procurement, transportation of medical products, supply of flat glass, mutual recognition of bank guarantees, and significant progress on a set of issues related to the manufacturing sector and the agricultural industry. On 22 December, topics related to healthcare, social security and expansion of direct air traffic, formation of the IT landscape in industry were added to the High-Level Group platform.

Dmitry Krutoi added that an agreement between Belarus and Russia on securities prospectuses is to be signed following the meeting.
