MOSCOW, 7 December (BelTA) – Belarus and Russia have already implemented 55% of the 28 Union State programs; the two countries have signed key agreements, Belarus’ Ambassador to Russia Dmitry Krutoi said at the media forum “Belarus - Russia: Equal Union, Common History, Shared Future” timed to the 23rd anniversary of the signing of the Union State Treaty, BelTA has learned.

“Our integration received a strong impetus after the Supreme State Council passed Decree No. 6 last year to approve the main areas of our work for the three-year period 2021-2023 and the 28 Union State programs. This package of integration documents is unprecedented in its scale, especially when it comes to integration between various economic sectors. This package covers almost all areas of cooperation with an emphasis on economy. We must unify our markets, align our policies in these areas, and harmonize rules,” Dmitry Krutoi said.

“The developments this year have shown that the decisions taken by the heads of state were timely and right. Today, 55% of all activities of these 28 Union State programs have already been implemented as suggested by the unified monitoring system that was developed by our economy ministries,” he said.

“A number of fundamental documents have been signed this year, including the customs agreement, the agreement on indirect taxes, the intergovernmental agreement on the recognition of technological operations in mechanical engineering and the agreement on cooperation in microelectronics. I would like to recall that microelectronics and machine tool building were singled out by our presidents as especially important industries at the current stage,” the ambassador said.

“The interstate center of customs services is expected to be launched soon. It will analyze and monitor all commodity flows,” Dmitry Krutoi added.
