MINSK, 21 November (BelTA) – Military cooperation between Belarus and Kazakhstan should be a paragon of effective work, Belarusian Defense Minister Viktor Khrenin said as he met with Kazakhstan’s Defense Minister Colonel General Ruslan Zhaksylykov, BelTA learned from the Defense Ministry.
“Kazakhstan is one of the main foreign policy partners of Belarus. The two countries maintain vibrant intergovernmental and interparliamentary contacts, coordinate their actions at international organizations, including the CSTO, CIS, and SCO that have a significant military dimension. Belarus-Kazakhstan cooperation in all areas is strategic. I believe that the defense partnership should not only be up to the expected level, but should also be an example of effective work,” emphasized Viktor Khrenin.
He went on saying that the Belarusian state seeks to maintain peace and order in the country and to join efforts with all interested countries to ensure uniform and indivisible security. “I am confident that Kazakhstan supports and shares our aspirations,” added Viktor Khrenin.
A reminder, Kazakhstan’s Defense Minister Colonel General Ruslan Zhaksylykov arrived in Belarus on an official visit on 21 November. The program of his visit included the meeting with Belarusian Defense Minister Viktor Khrenin and the visit to the Military Academy of Belarus. The prospects of Belarus-Kazakhstan cooperation in military education were also discussed.
