MINSK, 14 December (BelTA) -  We are currently preparing an official visit of Kazakhstan President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to Belarus, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kazakhstan to Belarus Yerlan Baizhanov said at a press conference in Minsk, BelTA has learned.

"There is very serious activity on the bilateral track. We are preparing an official visit of the president. We expect that it will take place in the first half of next year," the diplomat said.

He clarified that now it is the turn of Kazakhstan to make an official visit to Minsk at the highest level.

In general, according to the diplomat, bilateral relations maintain a high pace and dynamics. "This is absolutely justified, since we are important partners for each other. Relations between our states are characterized as a strategic partnership," Ambassador Yerlan Baizhanov said.

The ambassador has recently started his work in Belarus and shared his impressions. "The work here is interesting. A lot of work is now related to the promotion of our economic cooperation. I am already touring enterprises, meeting with businessmen AND executives of state-owned companies," he said.

THe ambassador also deals with multilateral cooperation, especially within the framework of the CIS, since the CIS is headquartered in Minsk. "I see how much work is being done in the CIS. It has about 70 sectoral structures," he said.
