Inter-parliamentary cooperation between Belarus, Iran described as very fruitful

MINSK, 13 September (BelTA) - Inter-parliamentary cooperation between Belarus and Iran is developing very fruitfully, Chairperson of the Council of the Republic Natalya Kochanova said during a meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Republic of Belarus Alireza Sanei, BelTA has learned.

"For us, MPs, inter-parliamentary cooperation between our countries is very important. I am happy to note that our cooperation is indeed developing very fruitfully. There are friendship groups that actively cooperate not only within the framework of mutual visits, but also by holding events online. Our cooperation should continue in this direction" Natalya Kochanova said.

In the current situation in the world, the role of MPs is multiplying, the speaker noted. "Belarus is a peace-loving country. We have never been a source of aggression and never will be. We understand very deeply the price of peace, we know what war is. We must do everything to convey the truth about our country, about our relations. This is the key thing that all MPs should focus on today in order to maintain peace and order," the speaker emphasized.
