MINSK, 1 September (BelTA) – Georgian Vice Premier, Foreign Minister Mikheil Janelidze will make an official visit to Belarus on 4-5 September, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Mikheil Janelidze is set to hold a series of high-level meetings in the government, the National Assembly, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to discuss a wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation, trade and economic cooperation, parliamentary relations and joint projects.
Following the talks, Belarus’ Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia are expected to sign a cooperation program for 2018-2019.
In January-June 2017 the Belarus-Georgia trade amounted to $53.3 million, up 28.4% from the same period 2016. Export amounted to $44.9 million (an increase of 28.8%), import totaled $8.4 million (up by 25.6%). Belarus had a $36.5 million surplus in trade in Georgia.
