MINSK, 6 September (BelTA) – The Belarusian State Control Committee and the Russian Accounts Chamber signed an updated cooperation agreement on 6 September, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian State Control Committee.
The document was signed by Chairman of the State Control Committee Leonid Anfimov and Chairperson of the Accounts Chamber Tatyana Golikova during the session of the CIS Council of Heads of Supreme Financial Control Bodies taking place in Baku, Azerbaijan.
The initial cooperation agreement was signed in 2001. It was updated in the wake of the changes in Belarus’ and Russia’s national legislations and new formats of cooperation between the financial control bodies.
The updated agreement outlines the key avenues and forms of cooperation between the Belarusian State Control Committee and the Russian Accounts Chamber. The sides are set to share experience and undertake joint activities in the matters of mutual interest, to collaborate in vocational and advanced training, to exchange information on standards and new methodologies in external audit (control). The agreement also envisages joint or concurrent auditing activities, analyses, and assessment of the work of supreme financial control bodies and the cooperation in the Belarus-Russia Union State and the Eurasian Economic Union within the framework of multilateral joint control activities.
