MINSK, 9 February (BelTA) – The European diplomats noted the willingness of Belarus to continue contacts on human rights issues, the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs told BelTA following the meeting between Belarus Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei and political directors of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Visegrad Group countries Ivan Jestrab (Czech Republic), Levente Benko (Hungary), Bogumila Ordyk (Poland) and Peter Misik (Slovakia).
The parties discussed the prospects for normalizing the relations between Belarus and the European Union. A note was taken of the willingness of Belarus to continue contacts on human rights issues both within the framework of the Belarus-European Union dialogue and also using the UN development assistance programs coordinated with the government, the press service said.
In addition, the meeting discussed the development of cooperation between Belarus and the Visegrad Group, and the issues on the international and regional agenda.
On 9 February, the Visegrad Group delegation held talks with Belarus Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Alena Kupchyna.
