MINSK, 11 November (BelTA) - Turkey President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has arrived in Belarus on an official visit. The aircraft with the Turkish leader on board landed in the Minsk National Airport, BelTA has learned.
At the airport the President of Turkey was welcomed by Belarus Prime Minister Andrei Kobyakov.
The leaders of Belarus and Turkey, Alexander Lukashenko and Recep Tayyip Erdogan, are set to hold official talks at Minsk’s Palace of Independence. The sides will discuss a wide range of issues regarding the development of interstate relations with an emphasis on the enhancement of the trade and economic cooperation, exchange opinions about the regional and international agenda. After the talks the sides are expected to sign a number of bilateral documents.
As part of the official visit of the Turkish President to Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko and Recep Tayyip Erdogan will take part in the Belarusian-Turkish business forum. The event is due to highlight promising areas in the development of the bilateral trade, economic and investment cooperation. Belarusian participants will have an opportunity to hold talks with representatives of Turkish companies interested in developing cooperation in different areas, including industry, trade, investments, construction, tourism and others. The forum will be held by the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry jointly with the Foreign Economic Relations Board of Turkey (DEIK).
The two leaders are also expected to attend a ceremony to open the Cathedral Mosque in Minsk.
