MINSK, 7 December (BelTA) - A delegation of the European External Action Service (EEAS) and the Directorate-General for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations (DG NEAR) will visit Minsk on 9-10 December, BelTA learned from the European Union Delegation in Belarus.
The delegation will be led by Mr Gunnar Wiegand, Managing Director of Europe and Central Asia Department, and Katarina Mathernova, Deputy Director-General of the Directorate-General for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations. A representative of the European Commission's Directorate-General for Trade (DG Trade) will also take part in the working visit.
The delegation is set to meet with representatives of the Belarusian authorities, civil society, the heads of the missions of the EU countries and representatives of international organizations in order to assess the state of relations between the EU and Belarus and to discuss the next steps of the interaction.
A delegation which prepares the annual European Union action program for Belarus, i.e. a plan of cooperation with Belarus with financial support from the EU for 2016, will have a separate program in Minsk on 7-9 December. The delegation is led by Mr. Mathieu Bousquet, Regional Programmes Neighbourhood East at the DG European Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiation.
