MINSK, 5 September (BelTA) – Belarus chaired the consultations of the member states of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) in Moscow to discuss the coordination of positions at the forthcoming 72nd session of the UN General Assembly, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The discussions highlighted the most important aspects of the CSTO participation in the UN peacekeeping activity, the situation in Afghanistan and the prospects for the counter-terrorism efforts within the United Nations.
The participants of the event confirmed the readiness for close cooperation on the whole agenda of the UN General Assembly.
The consultations will be continued in the CIS format on 5 September.
