MINSK, 28 August (BelTA) – Belarus and Novosibirsk Oblast need to search for new forms of cooperation, Chairman of the Council of the Republic Mikhail Myasnikovich said at a meeting held on 28 August to discuss the development of cooperation between Belarus and the Russian region, BelTA has learned.
Mikhail Myasnikovich noted that the trade between Belarus and Novosibirsk Oblast has been gradually increasing. The exports have been on the increase at the back of the previous year. However, it is still far away from the figures of 2012-2014 when the bilateral trade was much better. “We should assess our steps taking this into account. We also need new forms of cooperation,” said the Chairman of the Council of the Republic.
The speaker suggested developing more active contacts between MPs. “We need the corresponding contacts between MPs. Novosibirsk and Belarus have a relatively powerful youth potential, which we also need to take into account,” Mikhail Myasnikovich said.
The meeting also covered some problematic aspects of supplies of Belarusian equipment and food products to Novosibirsk Oblast and other issues of bilateral cooperation.
