Brest universities sign cooperation agreements with China’s Liaoning University

BREST, 14 July (BelTA) - Brest universities have signed cooperation agreements with Liaoning University from China. The ceremony took place during the Brest-Liaoning cultural and business forum, BelTA has learned.

Thus, the Chinese university became a partner of Pushkin Brest State University. "We already have experience of cooperating with Chinese universities. We hold joint conferences, student exchange. For example, Anhui University has opened a Belarus studies center. We have launched a Confucius institute. With the new partner we will outline areas for cooperation," Rector of Pushkin Brest State University Anna Sender said.

Brest State Technical University also signed a cooperation agreement with Liaoning University. "We have extensive experience of cooperation with universities in China. We have more than a dozen agreements and we are building up our interaction. The agreement with Liaoning University provides for academic exchanges, joint educational programs, scientific projects and socio-cultural interaction," Rector of the university Sergei Kasperovich noted.

He noted that Brest State Technical University is planning to offer the smart transport program for graduates of Chinese colleges. The proposal is of great interest. The program will be run by the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and the Faculty of Information Technology.

During the forum, a cooperation agreement was signed between the Brest Office of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Liaoning branch of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT).

A delegation of official and business circles of Liaoning Province is on a visit to Brest Oblast. An agreement on twinning and friendly relations was concluded between the Belarusian and Chinese regions, but the interaction is still in its nascent. The parties are mapping out the areas for mutually beneficial work.
