MINSK, 28 May (BelTA) – Representatives of Belarusian and Latvian law enforcement agencies have shared their experience of fighting crimes involving high technologies, representatives of the Belarusian Interior Ministry told BelTA.
Latvian law enforcers visited Belarus to participate in a conference of the criminal police chiefs of the two countries. The delegations were led by First Deputy Interior Minister of Belarus Ivan Podgursky and Deputy Chief of the State Police of Latvia Andrejs Grisins. In particular, joint measures to fight organized crime, illegal migration, and money laundering were discussed. The sides shared cutting-edge practices for solving high-tech crimes and for suppressing the channels used to distribute and sell narcotic substances and psychotropic substances.
Besides, a protocol was signed on cooperation between the Vitebsk Oblast Police Department and the Latgale Regional Office of the State Police of Latvia. The main purpose of the document is to improve the effectiveness of joint measures meant to fight transnational crimes and create a mechanism for prompt information sharing.
