MINSK, 15 December (BelTA) - Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko noted the accomplishments of the State Security Committee (KGB) in combating economic crimes as he spoke at a ceremony dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the state security bodies, BelTA has learned.
“By taking decisive action against economic crimes, KGB officers always operate under the inviolable principle: the damage done to the state should be compensated. Thanks to their work, Br250 million has been recovered to the budget over the past three years alone. Concrete results were achieved in the matters of food security, energy, engineering and a number of other industries,” Alexander Lukashenko said.
The president stressed that the economic sector is in the spotlight of the state security bodies. “All scientific secrets, the latest technological developments, strategic facilities such as the nuclear power plant, the chemical enterprises of the country must be the subject of close attention of the state security bodies,” the head of state noted.
