Belarusian honorary consul’s office opened in Turkish Canakkale

MINSK, 2 April (BelTA) – A solemn ceremony to open the Belarusian honorary consul’s office took place in the Turkish city of Canakkale on 2 April, BelTA has learned.

Ridvan Demirhan was appointed Belarus’ honorary consul. Belarusian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Yuri Ambrazevich, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Türkiye Viktor Rybak, Consul General of Belarus in Istanbul Aleksei Shved, Canakkale Province Governor Ilhami Aktas, Representative of the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Canakkale, Ambassador Murat Ahmet Yoruk, representatives of the Turkish private sector and the general public took part in the ceremony.

The Belarusian deputy minister of foreign affairs and the Canakkale Province governor discussed cooperation in the near future. A memorandum of understanding was signed between the Canakkale Province Governorship and the Novogrudok District Executive Committee.

During the signing ceremony Novogrudok District was represented by Deputy Chairman of the Novogrudok District Executive Committee Aleksandr Grits. The official also led the business part of the delegation of directors of Novogrudok District’s largest enterprises.

Belarusian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Yuri Ambrazevich also met with top officials and members of the Canakkale Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Opportunities and prospects of bilateral trade and economic interaction were discussed.
