MINSK, 11 July (BelTA) – Representatives of the Belarusian army and the German one have sketched out prospects of bilateral cooperation in the area of linguistic and peacemaking training, representatives of the Belarusian Defense Ministry told BelTA.
A UN conference on peacemaking affairs for chiefs of general staffs is taking place in New York, USA. Chief of the General Staff, First Deputy Defense Minister of Belarus Oleg Belokonev held a number of bilateral meetings with heads of military delegations of the UK, Germany, and Serbia during the conference on 10 July.
During the meeting with Inspector General of Bundeswehr Eberhard Zorn the sides sketched out prospects of bilateral cooperation in the area of linguistic and peacemaking training. The German side underlined the transparency and adherence to international commitments that Belarus demonstrates in matters of arms control. During the meeting with Chief of the Defense Staff of the UK Nick Carter the sides discussed avenues of further advancement of bilateral interaction in the area of peacemaking, arms control, and linguistic training.
During the meeting with Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Serbia Milan Mojsilovic the sides confirmed mutual interest in taking bilateral military cooperation to new heights. Oleg Belokonev and Milan Mojsilovic also discussed the participation of the Belarusian team and the Serbian one in contests to be held in Belarus and Russia during the International Army Games 2019.
