MINSK, 23 September (BelTA) – Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergei Aleinik met with Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations Counter-Terrorism Office Vladimir Voronkov, the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs told BelTA.
Matters of international cooperation were in the center of attention during the meeting. Sergei Aleinik and Vladimir Voronkov also discussed Belarus’ contribution to joint efforts in the fight against terrorism. The situation in various regions across the globe was also discussed.
Apart from that, Sergei Aleinik and Vladimir Voronkov talked about the forthcoming Eurasian conference on security, which will take place in Minsk.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the General Assembly of the United Nations Organization in New York, USA. Sergei Aleinik leads the Belarusian delegation to the 78th session of the UN General Assembly.
Efforts of the Belarusian delegation primarily focus on promoting a consolidating and creative agenda that underscores the peaceful nature of national priorities, at counteracting the initiatives designed to undermine the country’s national interests.
