Belarusian foreign minister holds meetings in New York to invigorate cooperation with Belarus

MINSK, 23 September (BelTA) – A Belarusian delegation led by Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergei Aleinik continues working during the 78th session of the General Assembly of the United Nations Organization in New York, USA, the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs told BelTA.

On the sidelines of the session Sergei Aleinik met with the Nigerian minister of foreign affairs. The sides stressed the existing unrealized potential for stepping up bilateral trade and economic relations. Manufacturing cooperation, agriculture, education, and healthcare were mentioned as priority cooperation avenues.

During the meeting with Minister of External Relations and Cooperation of Equatorial Guinea Simeon Oyono Esono Angue attention focused on fulfilling the instructions given by the two heads of state as a result of negotiations in Minsk. An understanding was reached about the need to hold a session of the bilateral commission on trade and economic cooperation in Minsk in the near future.

Ways to intensify bilateral relations were discussed as Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergei Aleinik met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Oman Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamood Albusaidi.
