MINSK, 21 November (BelTA) - The Embassy of Belarus in Russia will open an office in Krasnodar, Belarusian Ambassador to Russia Dmitry Krutoi told BelTA.
The opening of an office of the Belarusian Embassy in the Russian Federation in Krasnodar by 1 January 2024 is envisaged in Resolution No. 804 by the Belarusian Council of Ministers of 20 November 2023. "The prime minister signed the resolution. By agreement with the governor, we will select the building. So far, we are planning to post one diplomat who will be the head of the embassy office," Ambassador Dmitry Krutoi noted.
The Finance Ministry shall finance the expenses on opening and maintaining the Krasnodar office of the embassy from the funds set aside in the national budget for diplomatic missions and consular offices of Belarus abroad.
In July, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed a resolution on the opening of an office of the Belarusian embassy in Russia in Krasnodar. The timing was not specified.
In October, Ambassador Dmitry Krutoi announced the imminent opening of Belarusian consulates general in three Russian cities: Kaliningrad, Vladivostok and Nizhny Novgorod. "But gradually, we will assign the status of the Consulate General to all our offices and their number will double. The task is to have 20 offices, each of them covering three or four Russian regions. This is the optimal scheme, taking into account the current level of our relations," he said at the time.
As it has been reported, Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko arrived in Krasnodar on a working visit. This is the first destination for the Belarusian government delegation as part of the visit to the Russian regions.
