MINSK, 13 November (BelTA) - Chargé d'Affaires of the Republic of Belarus in Japan Evgeny Lavrinenko took part in the Kyoto Prize ceremony in Kyoto, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Embassy in Tokyo.
The Belarusian diplomat attended the ceremony at the invitation of the Inamori Foundation, the organizer of the event. He met with Chair of the Kyoto Prize Executive Committee Hiroyuki Sakaki and briefed him about the R&D of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.
The Chargé d'Affaires also met with Belarusian citizens permanently residing in the city of Kyoto and answered questions about changes in the Belarusian legislation regarding consular issues.
The Kyoto Prize is an international award given to individuals who have made significant contributions in the fields of science and technology, as well as art and philosophy.
