Belarusian defense minister meets with Chinese one at SCO conference

MINSK, 26 April (BelTA) – Belarusian Defense Minister, Lieutenant-General Viktor Khrenin met with Chinese Defense Minister, Admiral Dong Jun on the sidelines of a conference of the defense ministers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states, the Belarusian Defense Ministry told BelTA.

The high level of Belarus-China bilateral relations was stressed. They have the status of all-weather and all-round strategic partnership. The sides exchanged opinions about the state and prospects of advancing interaction in military affairs. Ways to advance cooperation in the medium-term and the long-term were sketched out.

As a result of the meeting the Belarusian defense minister and the Chinese one remarked upon the significant potential of cooperation between the Republic of Belarus and the People’s Republic of China in military affairs.
