Belarusian citizenship granted to 284 people, including 28 minors

MINSK, 5 March (BelTA) – On 5 March Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko signed Decree No.80 to grant Belarusian citizenship to 284 people, including 28 minors, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian head of state.

In addition to applicants from Ukraine, the president approved citizenship requests from foreign nationals and stateless persons from 22 countries, including Armenia, Vietnam, Georgia, Egypt, Iraq, Iran, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Lebanon, Moldova, Palestine, Russia, Syria, Uzbekistan, Estonia.

At the same time the head of state turned down citizenship applications filed by a number of foreign citizens, who have repeatedly broken Belarusian laws or have been unemployed for a long time during their stay in Belarus.
