TASHKENT, 29 March (BelTA) – An agreement on cooperation in the military sector between the defense ministries of Belarus and Uzbekistan was signed during the meeting of Belarus’ Defense Minister Andrei Ravkov and Uzbekistan’s Minister of Defense Abdusalom Azizov in Tashkent, according to the Uzbekistan National News Agency (UzA).
During the meeting on 28 March the parties discussed the current state and prospects of the Belarusian-Uzbek cooperation in the defense sector, exchanged opinions on strengthening mutually beneficial ties in the military technical area.
Belarus invited Uzbekistan’s army to take part in the annual military tests for the Valor and Skills badge.
The Belarusian delegation visited the Uzbekistan Academy of Armed Forces to get familiar with the operation of the institution and the latest approaches to training the military personnel.
The official visit of the Belarusian defense minister to Uzbekistan started on 27 March. Andrei Ravkov also held talks with Secretary of the Security Council under the President of Uzbekistan Viktor Makhmudov.
