MINSK, 5 February (BelTA) – Matters of investment cooperation between Belarus and the United Kingdom were discussed during a meeting between Belarusian First Deputy Economy Minister Alexander Zaborovsky and Ambassador of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to Belarus Fionna Gibb in Minsk on 5 February, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Economy Ministry.
The parties discussed ways to strengthen the investment cooperation between Belarus and the United Kingdom and talked over the preparations for the upcoming visit of Director General for Political Affairs at the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office Simon Gass to Belarus scheduled for 9 February.
Alexander Zaborovsky and Fionna Gibb also exchanged views on Belarus’ economic cooperation with other Eurasian Economic Union member countries, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, and the International Monetary Fund.
“Besides, Alexander Zaborovsky congratulated Fionna Gibb on the beginning of her diplomatic mission in Belarus and expressed hope that the positive developments in Belarus-EU relations will accelerate the development of the bilateral cooperation between Belarus and the United Kingdom,” the Economy Ministry said.
