MINSK, 7 May (BelTA) – Belarus and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) will develop cooperation in the prevention of emergency situations, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Emergencies Ministry.
Belarus’ Emergencies Minister Vladimir Vashchenko is attending a meeting of the joint commission on cooperation between the governments of Belarus and the UAE, which is underway in Abu Dhabi on 6-7 May. “The parties are expected to sign a memorandum of understanding between the Belarusian Emergencies Ministry and the Supreme Council for National Security of the United Arab Emirates represented by the National Emergency Crisis and Disasters Management Authority. The document envisages the development of cooperation in emergency prevention, vulnerability reduction, and restoration after a possibly negative impact of catastrophes,” the ministry said.
The Belarusian minister met with Director General of the National Emergency Crisis and Disasters Management Authority of the Supreme Council for National Security of the United Arab Emirates Jamal Mohamed Alhosani. The parties discussed bilateral relations in personnel training at the University of Civil Protection of the Ministry for Emergency Situations of the Republic of Belarus, collaboration in explaining life safety fundamentals to children and the youth, participation in sport and training events.
