MINSK, 19 March (BelTA) – A Belarusian delegation led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Valentin Rybakov will take part in the third round of intergovernmental talks on preparing for the high-level session of the UN General Assembly in New York on 23-27 March, BelTA learned from Dmitry Mironchik, Head of the Information Office, Press Secretary of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on 19 March.
The meeting is expected to be an important step for working out and adjusting the final document of the 2015 UN Summit that will sum up results of the efforts meant to accomplish Millennium Development Goals. Universal guidelines will be determined for the international community to take care of social and economic development in the next 10-20 years.
Apart from that, as part of the Belarusian delegation Valentin Rybakov will attend the conference of defense ministers that will take place in New York on 27 March 2015 to discuss UN peacekeeping operations.
A working meeting with heads of the missions of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation member states has been scheduled. The book Belarus and the Muslim World will be presented during the meeting.
