MINSK, 25 January (BelTA) – Belarus’ Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Oleg Kravchenko will lead the Belarusian delegation at the Rome International Conference on Antisemitism, Dmitry Mironchik, head of the information and digital diplomacy office, spokesman for the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, told a press briefing, BelTA has learned.
The international conference on the responsibility of states, institutions and citizens in the fight against antisemitism and related hate crimes will take place in Rome on 29 January. The event is organized under the 2018 Italian Chairmanship of OSCE taking into account all the commitments taken with the framework of the organization to combat every form of racism, xenophobia and discrimination. The Italian chairmanship also confirmed the opinion to undertake further initiatives to expand efforts in counteracting intolerance, including in respect to Christians, Muslims and representatives of other religions.
Dmitry Mironchik stressed that Belarus’ participation in the conference is of great importance, taking into account the themes of the event and the constructive relations with the OSCE and the forum host Italy. The Belarusian deputy minister is expected to hold bilateral meetings with heads of several delegations of the OSCE participating states.
