MINSK, 23 April (BelTA) - The Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Belarus and Singapore are planning to hold bilateral consultations in the second half 2016, the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs told BelTA following the first meeting between Belarus’ Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei and his Singaporean counterpart Vivian Balakrishnan. The meeting took place in the UN headquarters in New York on 22 Apil.
During the meeting, the Ministers agreed to continue the practice of holding bilateral ministerial consultations and arrange the next round of these consultations in the second half of 2016, the press service noted.
It is expected that the consultations will review the entire bilateral agenda of Belarus and Singapore, with emphasis on economic relations and contacts between business communities.
The Ministers also discussed the participation of Belarus and Singapore in organizations of regional economic integration and the opportunities for promotion of trade and economic cooperation, both in bilateral and multilateral formats.
