MINSK, 29 August (BelTA) – Belarus’ Industry Minister Vitaly Vovk and Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Russia’s Chuvash Republic - Minister of Economic Development, Industry and Trade Vladimir Avrelkin signed a protocol to enhance scientific, technical, trade and economic and cultural ties, BelTA learned from spokesman for the Industry Ministry Vladimir Podolyak.
An official delegation of the Chuvash Republic of Russia is on a working visit in Belarus on 28-30 August. The delegation includes the minister of economic development, industry and trade, the minister of agriculture, the minister of transport and road management, representatives of large corporations and business communities.
The Industry Ministry hosted the 10th meeting of the working group on the cooperation between Belarus and Chuvashia. The talks considered promising avenues of interaction in the light and food industries, agriculture, construction, consumer cooperation, sport and tourism.
During the official visit the members of the Chuvashia delegation are set to visit MAZ, MTZ, Belkommunmash, Kozlov Minsk Electrotechnical Plant and other facilities.
In January-June this year the trade between Belarus and Russia’s Chuvash Republic amounted to $58.4 million, up 20.6% from the same period of 2016. Exports went up by 7.3% to total $36.5 million. Belarus’ major export items included insecticides, herbicides, trucks, electrical transformers, compounds containing the functional carboxamide group, vehicles for harvesting and threshing of crops, parts and accessories for automobiles and tractors, and others.
